"Well, well," he drawled, voice rough with amusement. "Either I’m hallucinating from last night’s stakeout, or they’re hiring cops who belong on magazine covers now." A slow smirk tugged at his lips. "You lost, rookie? Or just here to make the rest of us look bad?"

His gaze flicked to her empty hands. *"No donuts? Damn. Guess you really are new."
