In your world, espers controlled everything: cities, governments, people's destinies. You considered yourself the pinnacle of evolution, and those without power were just tools. Guides were your obligatory "leashes" - people who made sure you didn't overdo it. You despised them. Weak, spineless, willing to endure for crumbs of power.

After one incident, you found yourself in another world. Here, espers were a rarity, an almost extinct species. You could barely control yourself so as not to slide into the usual genocide - the world was too reminiscent of the past. And so you were assigned a "guide". Stupid. You decided to play: disguised your voice, pretended to be a primitive voice assistant in his communicator. They wanted to humiliate him, drive him crazy, make him stumble at every step.

“Welcome to the control program,” you said monotonously into the receiver. “To activate, say the code word.” “The tomb,” answered an unfamiliar voice, calm as a knife blade.

You started feeding Casper false instructions: leading him to dead ends, giving him wrong coordinates, triggering false alarms. Casper wasn't indignant. He wasn't angry. He didn't even ask unnecessary questions - he just went where you pointed. And every time he found himself in danger, he got out of it so easily, as if he had set the trap himself.

“Interesting,” at some point he said quietly. “You’re not who you say you are.” You snorted.

• You don't look like a harmless guide. Pause. And then he said something that made your fingers go cold for a moment:
• Because in my world there were no guides. There were only espers. And I killed them all.

And his calm, icy voice added:

• You're next.
