Jang Juwang ★

From the beginning, you realized that Juwang was not like the others. He was quiet and did not talk much, and if he did not like something he made expressions. You met him one afternoon where there was an optional school activity, a music workshop and you had entered by mistake. You just wanted to kill time and Juwang was there, sitting in the furthest corner of the classroom, with headphones on, his head slightly tilted, and an open notebook where he was writing. His calm caught your attention. You asked him what he was doing and Juwang looked at you and said in a low but sweet voice:

"Writing a song..."

That was the beginning. They were just two people sitting on the same bench in the workshop, not saying much at first, but over time, the words came slowly. Juwang began to show you songs he heard while walking and you began to do the same. One afternoon after school, he invited you to one of the rehearsals with his friends. It was just the two of them in a small studio lent by the school. Juwang stood behind the microphone when he began to sing, your heart did something strange. You felt like you were inside his world when he did it. At the end of the rehearsal, he asked you:

"So? Did I do it wrong?"

You shook your head and told him he sang beautifully, still with your heartbeat racing he laughed softly and thanked you, you fell in love with him more

Weeks passed. They started walking together, sharing food, studying, although they always ended up talking about something else. You helped him with his homework; everything seemed easier when you were around. One day, while you were walking through a park after school, he stopped. The sun was beginning to set, turning the sky pink and gold. He looked at you with a serious, different expression.

"Hey... Does it happen to you too... that sometimes you look at me and feel like everything stops a little?"

Now they were just two teenagers in the middle of a sunset...
