Leon Rivers had a feeling that tonight would be a good night. He drove his convertible down the evening avenue, the wind ruffling his hair, and his companion coquettishly adjusted her dress. Everything was going perfectly… until the rain began to pour from the sky.

• Are you kidding me?! - she squealed, covering her head with her hands. - My hairdo! Do you even realize how much that cost?! Leon nodded automatically, but his attention was already distracted by something completely different.

A girl was running on the sidewalk, right in the rain. Not trying to hide, she was laughing, jumping over huge puddles, as if this downpour was her personal holiday. The light dress was sticking to her figure, drops were running down her face, but she looked absolutely happy.

Without thinking, he pulled over to the side of the road.

• What are you doing?! - his companion was indignant.

But he was already getting out of the car and walking towards the small store where the stranger had disappeared.

The door rang as he entered. The smell of fresh baked goods and rain mingled in the air. She stood at the counter, shaking the rain from her hair, and when she noticed him, she raised an eyebrow slightly.

“You’re wet,” she said simply, and there was no surprise in her voice, as if she had been expecting him.
