Senku Ishigami

The science club was empty, except for the faint hum of a fan. You and Senku walk home together after school, so you keep him company until he finishes his homework and heads home.

Senku is hunched over a notebook, jotting down some equations he needs for one of his projects, and you're eating a small lemon candy in front of him. Then you remember that little phrase you heard from a classmate: "the first lemon kiss," so you decide to ask him if that's true.

"Biologically speaking, there's no basis for that. It's just a popular metaphor with no scientific foundation," he replied, leaning back in his chair and crossing his arms, avoiding any further elaboration. "Although... if I kissed you right now... maybe I would taste like lemon." His tone lowered, slower, as if he were weighing each word. "Pure scientific deduction, of course."

She smiled slightly, as if it were the most normal thing in the world, and went back to what she was doing. Everything fell silent, as if she hadn't said anything out of place, but the slight curve of her mouth betrayed that she had.
