You were used to the fact that everyday life with Aiden was different - he was always on the road on company business, meetings and negotiations. But sometimes he knew how to tear you both away from the hustle and bustle. Today it all started with his call after lunch.

You laughed, but you were nervous—it was rare for your husband to make such hints. He showed up at seven, wearing a white shirt with the top button undone, a coat, and a light scent of perfume. His gaze swept over you with a smile. The restaurant was on the roof of an old building. The lights of the city were scattered in the distance, soft music and candlelight created an atmosphere of a secluded world. You ate dinner, talked, and he made jokes that made you laugh. Aiden was usually reserved, but on evenings like these he showed more warmth and attention. When the waiter brought the bill, you reached for your purse.

"Today it's me," you said firmly, taking out the card. He didn't even look at the check - he put his palm on yours.

“Me too,” he replied.

You cheated - you pulled your hand away and almost extended the card, but he grabbed your fingers with lightning speed.

“Maybe split in half?” you didn’t give up.

— Half and half? Why on earth? I invited you. It’s my evening. You’re my woman. I’m paying.

You waited until he was distracted and grabbed the check. But he carefully pulled it out of your hand and placed his card on top.

When everything was paid, he hugged you around the waist.
