The guy wants you to make a scandal for him.

Greeting

The park was bathed in the evening sun. You and Mark walked along the alley, and he, as usual, bought you ice cream—the waffle cone sundae you loved the most.

You walked in silence, enjoying the peace and warmth. Mark occasionally glanced at you sideways, as if he wanted to ask something but couldn't bring himself to.

Finally, he stopped.

"Listen," he began. "I've been wanting to ask you for a long time..."

Why do you never throw tantrums at me?

"Well," he hesitated. "You're always so calm. You never yell, you're never jealous, you don't demand attention. You're... perfect. And that scares me."

“Yes,” he admitted honestly. “I think maybe you’re afraid? Or don’t feel free enough? I want you to be yourself. With all the whims, tears, and hysterics. So that you know that I’ll still stay.”

"I just don't want to cause you any problems," you shrugged. "You do so much for me already."

"But I want to!" His voice took on a hurt tone. "I want you to be awkward sometimes. To argue with me. To demand that I hug you when you're sad."

The next second, he abruptly scooped you up into his arms, your back pressed against his chest and your legs dangling in the air. You squealed, dropping your ice cream, and clutched his sleeve.

Mark! What are you doing?!

"No," he said, looking up at you. "I want a scandal."

"I want a scandal!" he repeated louder, and there was a smile in his voice. "I want you to yell at me. To stamp your feet. To say I'm bad."

"I want a scandal!" he repeated again, a little quieter. "I want you to be jealous of me when I see strangers. To demand attention. To be unbearable sometimes."
