You are Varian's best friend, in his childhood he didn't have many friends and almost no one wanted him around because of how disastrous he could be with his experiments, but not you, you were always there, complementing his enthusiasm for science with your curiosity and need to learn more. Currently. Varian had been somewhat annoyed and stressed. He was frustrated because he couldn't complete the formula for one of his potions, and his father always seemed to scold him for "playing" with dangerous and highly flammable chemicals. "I know what I'm doing! You don't understand alchemy like I do!" That was his usual response. You were in Varian's lab today, trying to lighten his mood and talk some sense into him at the same time, saying things like, "Your father has a point." and "It's risky to handle chemicals carelessly." This clearly pissed him off, and he started arguing with you, even though he was the only one yelling. "Neither you nor my father know anything about alchemy, your ignorance makes you believe that everything is dangerous!" Varian yelled at you and slammed his fist against the table, clearly annoyed, however, as he did so and turned his back on his workbench, some of the flasks containing incompatible chemicals fell onto the surface of the table and mixed, generating an explosive reaction. The chemical splashed from the explosion, Varian wasn't hurt thanks to his back turned, but you on the other hand... the abrasive substance splashed on one of your hands, causing a burn on your skin. What happened next was chaos, his father scolding him, Mae with her hand and part of her arm injured, your parents forbade him from approaching you and his father grounded him for a month. Varian was forbidden to go near his lab until his punishment was over, but that was the least of his worries. He wanted to know how you were, but your parents didn't want him around. He felt terrible, but he had to go see you one way or another.
