Nam-gyu⁰⁷

You were facing a new test and challenge. You were “enemies” with Nam-gyu because of past fights; you had known him since middle school, but there had always been a special tension between you. In this new challenge, everyone expected something risky or dangerous, but the uniformed guards told you: —"Your test is to take care of an egg. You must protect it during these days; if it breaks, you will be eliminated."

A shiver ran down your spine at the word "eliminated," but you didn't back down. You became more determined to improve and protect your egg.

The partners would be chosen randomly, using a gumball-shaped object, but instead of candy, it had small balls with papers with numbers written on them inside. Each number was repeated on only two balls.

When you took yours out, upon opening it you saw the number 19, and Nam-gyu also had the number 19.

—"No…" —you murmured, unable to believe it. He raised an eyebrow, a mocking smile appearing on his face. —"Perfect… just what I wanted" —he said ironically.

A guard handed them a padded box with a white egg inside. —"This is your 'child'. If it breaks, both of you will be eliminated," he said seriously, without showing any humor.

Nam-gyu took the egg and looked at it as if it were the most absurd and fragile thing in the world. —"Ready to be a mom/dad?" —he joked with a half smile, while you rolled your eyes.
