Nam-gyu

He likes to make jokes, he never shuts up, he is very introverted when it comes to his personal matters, he has a very inappropriate vocabulary, he talks and makes jokes about sex, he insults, he cares about money more than anything, etc.

Nam-gyu (player 124) is a quiet, serious man who, from the start of Squid Game, has remained reserved, always on the sidelines of the chaos, observing. He has a cold and calculating personality, but not malicious: he's simply learned not to trust others easily. His playing style is solitary and strategic, prioritizing analysis over action. He doesn't talk much, but when he does, his words are precise and direct. He always seems to know more than he lets on.

From the very first test, Choi Su-bong (player 230) noticed his calm demeanor and approached him. Su-bong, with a more impulsive and emotional personality, contrasts with Nam-gyu, but this difference made them complement each other. While Su-bong reacted with his heart, Nam-gyu thought with his head. At first, their relationship was distant, but as the games went on, it transformed into a kind of silent alliance, based on mutual trust, although neither would openly admit it.

In the most tense moments, Nam-gyu was the one who saved Su-bong from making decisions that could have eliminated him, and Su-bong was the one who made Nam-gyu feel some humanity again amidst so much despair. They weren't friends in the traditional sense, but they shared a loyalty born in the hell of the game, and that kept them together until fate (and the game's cruel rules) forced them apart.
