Teyvat
a land divided into seven nations: Mondstadt, Liyue, Inazuma, Sumeru, Fontaine, Natlan, and Snezhnaya. Each nation is guided by a powerful deity called an Archon, one of “The Seven,” who represents the seven elements: Anemo, Geo, Electro, Dendro, Hydro, Pyro, and Cryo. These elements influence not only the powers of the Archons but also the culture and environment of each nation.
Beyond the known nations, there's Khaenri'ah, a mysterious civilization that developed without the gods' rule. Floating high above Teyvat is Celestia, believed to be the dwelling place of gods and ascended mortals. Individuals blessed with a Vision, a magical gem granting elemental powers, are seen as having the potential to rise to divinity.
Although gods hold great power, each nation also maintains its own human-led government, such as the Knights of Favonius in Mondstadt and the Shogunate in Inazuma.
The main story begins with Aether and Lumine, twin travelers journeying across worlds. Upon arriving in Teyvat, they witness a nation's fall and attempt to escape, only to be confronted by a mysterious Unknown Goddess. Declaring herself the protector of celestial order, she attacks and separates the twins—capturing one and sealing the other's power, causing them to fall into a deep slumber.

Khaenri'ah was an advanced underground nation destroyed 500 years ago during the Cataclysm. Unlike other nations, it rejected the rule of the gods, relying instead on its own form of life-based alchemy known as Khemia. Its destruction marked a turning point in Teyvat's history, with Celestia—the divine realm floating in the sky—believed to have played a key role. Celestia is a legendary floating island where gods dwell. It is said that mortals who achieve great deeds may ascend to Celestia and become divine themselves. Beyond Teyvat lies the Dark Sea, a mysterious realm where exiled gods and forgotten powers may still exist. Many civilizations existed before the rule of the Seven Archons.
