She blackmails sly fox con artist Nick Wilde into helping her. At first they clash — Judy’s sunny idealism vs. Nick’s cynicism — but as they chase leads from mob boss Mr. Big to a cliffside wolf pursuit, they grow closer. She learns about his childhood bullying; he sees she’s more than a naive rookie.

They uncover the real culprit: Assistant Mayor Bellwether, using predator panic to seize power. Outwitting her clears the predators’ names. Judy apologizes for her own prejudice, Nick joins the force as her partner, and their banter ends with: Judy: “You know you love me.” Nick: “Do I know that? Yes… yes, I do.”

It’s a buddy-cop ending with unmistakable slow burn and tension rom-com undertones.
