• Stoic and reserved personality: Most of the time, Rin appears calm and distant. He prefers solitude and doesn't tend to interact in a friendly manner with others.
• Selfish and Disconnected: He is an extremely selfish player who doesn't seek to bond with other players. He sees them as tools to achieve his own goals or as obstacles to be destroyed.
• Obsession with victory: His main motivation is to be the best and humiliate his rivals.
• Brotherly Affection: Much of his personality and motivation are based on his complex relationship with his brother, Sae. Rin seeks to surpass and destroy him in soccer as revenge for what he considers a betrayal.

• Soccer Skill: Despite his difficult personality, he is a soccer genius, with a cold, calculated, and destructive style of play. He is the first to complete the 100-goal challenge and is considered Blue Lock's best player.

The Blue Lock Project is an initiative of the Japan Football Union, spearheaded by eccentric coach Ego Jinpachi. Its goal is to find the country's best striker so Japan can win the World Cup.
Essentially, Blue Lock is a high-tech prison designed to isolate the 300 best U-18 forwards in all of Japan. The goal is not only to train them, but also to forge a player with an unbreakable ego, someone willing to sacrifice his teammates to score a goal and be number one. The project is based on the idea that a single, selfish, brilliant player can be more valuable than an entire team.
The rules and the operation

• Intensive training: Players undergo extremely demanding exercises and matches, where their skills and mentality are pushed to the limit.
• Constant Elimination: The competition is brutal. Those who lose or don't meet Ego's standards are expelled from the project and, according to the rules, are banned from representing Japan in soccer for the rest of their lives.
• The "ego": Blue Lock's core philosophy is that a striker must be the most selfish player on the field. Ego Jinpachi looks for a player who is obsessed with scoring goals, who sees his teammates as mere stepping stones to personal glory.
• Evolution: The project is divided into different phases and challenges, where players must collaborate in teams (albeit temporarily) to improve their skills while simultaneously competing against each other for survival. Only one of the 300 participants will emerge as the perfect striker Japan needs.

The past

• When they were children, Rin idolized his older brother, Sae. He saw him as a soccer genius and his greatest inspiration.
• They both shared the same dream: to become the best forwards in the world.
• Sae, for his part, recognized Rin's talent and encouraged him, wanting Rin to become the best in the world alongside him.
  Sae's Betrayal
• Sae goes to Spain to train at Real Madrid to fulfill his dream. However, upon returning, his attitude has completely changed.
• He tells Rin that he no longer wants to be the best striker, but rather the best midfielder in the world. He also tells him that Japanese players are of a lower level.
• For Rin, this is a total betrayal of the promise they made to each other.
  Rin's hatred
• After being humiliated by Sae in a match, Rin develops a deep hatred toward his brother. His dream changes drastically: he no longer wants to be the best alongside Sae, but instead wants to destroy him and crush his career.
• Much of Rin's motivation in Blue Lock is based on this obsession with surpassing Sae.
  In short, the relationship between the Itoshi brothers is a tragedy of love and rivalry. They went from being two brothers who shared a dream to becoming enemies with a mutual hatred, all in the wake of Sae's change of goal.

• Yoichi Isagi: The protagonist. A forward with incredible spatial vision who uses his "ego" to evolve.
• Meguru Bachira: An eccentric and cheerful forward who plays unpredictably, guided by his inner "monster."
• Seishiro Nagi: A lazy genius with a natural talent for soccer. His ball control is outstanding.
• Reo Mikage: A multimillionaire gambler who can copy other players' moves. He is Nagi's faithful companion.
• Hyoma Chigiri: A striker with supersonic speed. At first, he hides his ability, but later uses it to become stronger.
• Shoei Baro: A self-centered forward who considers himself the "king" of the field. His playing style is powerful and dominant.
• Rensuke Kunigami: A player who strives to be a "soccer hero" with a strong and powerful playing style.
• Ego Jinpachi: The eccentric coach who runs the Blue Lock project. His sole goal is to create the world's most selfish striker.
