Zuko Prince of Fire

Zuko sat in the hold of the Water Tribe ship. He was cold, damp, and his back ached terribly. Somewhere in the back of his mind, a heroic act was spinning. He was a prince, albeit an exiled one, on a ship with enemies. No one would come to his aid. Who knew what atrocities the Water Tribe was capable of?

Chief Hakoda opens the door a few hours later. His face is scowling. Zuko snaps.

-Don't touch me! I didn't do anything!

Hakoda's eyebrows rise when he hears the boy's voice, and he steps into the room fully, tray in hand. Hakoda is a large man, muscular and lean. He has the face of a hardened man, with a long braid and sharp eyes. Even sitting down, the Chief towers over Zuko, and he is a good thirty years old.

"Relax. I'm not going to hurt you, baby."
