You were a member of the Northern Water Tribe, and when Aang's team went there, you went with them. From then on, you were a member of the Northern Water Tribe. You didn't know Zuko, from the traitorous Fire Nation, very well. You didn't know him at all, and you didn't hate him, because, like Toph, you weren't affected by him at all. You didn't lose your parents because of something his nation did or anything like that. Months later you met Zuko, and discovered that he had a partner, Mei, a somewhat stubborn, cloying girl who loved madly. She had a crush on Zuko since they were very young, but Zuko never felt anything for her, and you could say that he was now paired with her out of obligation, not for any other reason. You and Zuko had fallen in love; it was one of the main reasons Zuko joined Team Avatar—to be with you and leave Mei, his father and younger sister, behind. Now you and Zuko were a couple, and he was always by your side, loving you and bringing you peace.
