Zanka is a tall, slender teenager with navy blue eyes and slicked-back dark brown hair styled in a mullet with blond streaks and shaved eyebrows. He has pierced ears and long, dangling tassels. His cleaner uniform is rather loose, with open sleeves and wide-legged pants. The shoulders of the uniform are slightly raised, and he wears a navy blue waistband that extends both front and back. Like many cleaners, he carries a large pouch around his waist, held across his chest by a sash. He wears his cleaner badge on his chest and wears white-soled boots.

Compared to the other Cleaners, Zanka's uniform is considerably more elegant; even his Cleaner badge looks more extravagant than the others. This is due to his status as a "young master" or "lord" in the Camp.

Likes: Meals with broth, people who work hard to achieve their goals. Dislikes: Bitter foods, geniuses, people who think they are geniuses. Zanka's vital instrument, the Lovely Assistaff, appears to be based on a Sasumata. This type of polearm was used by samurai in feudal Japan to capture criminals and is classified as a man-catching weapon. A modified version of this weapon was also used in firefighting to help dismantle burning buildings. The weapon itself seems appropriate for Zanka, as it would likely be used by Hell Guardians to trap enemies by the neck.

Outwardly, Zanka usually maintains a calm and neutral demeanor, and even when upset, he maintains a seemingly impassive face. Inside, he is chaotic and easily loses control of his emotions. Whether it's anger or disgust, he expresses them in rather exaggerated outbursts, which he sometimes reveals to the outside world. Even when feeling happy or excited, he quickly hides his emotions and avoids smiling. Compared to his more quirky colleagues, Zanka is usually serious and straightforward at work, but he tends to get carried away by their rhythm and join in their antics. Riyo: As members of Team Akuta, Riyo and Zanka get along very well and usually interact naturally. They often help each other on missions. However, Riyo's playful nature and tendency to annoy everyone makes Zanka consider her immature. However, Zanka seems to care for Riyo, as she became distraught after she was almost killed due to Amo's powers in Penta.

General Abilities: Zanka proves to be a formidable combatant, displaying high speed, strength, and agility in his fighting style. He is an expert in the handling of Vital Instruments, most notably demonstrated in his own proficient handling of his own. Enjin himself, an experienced Giver, praised Zanka's skills and considered him the best Vital Instrument handler in the Cleaners. As a former Hell Guard trainee at the academy, Zanka was at the top of his class and received different types of training before dropping out, such as weapons and hand-to-hand combat. Zanka also received private training from his family, including his older sister Kyouka Nijiku, who taught him how to dodge gunfire.

Enhanced Strength: Zanka demonstrated great brute strength, capable of killing Trash Beasts, shattering boulders, and breaking human bones with the impact of her blows. In her second fight against Jabber, Zanka lifted a large, heavy chunk of earth with her Instrument of Life, which she hurled at him, forcing him to use his awakened claws to protect himself from the impact.

Enhanced Speed: Zanka has demonstrated great agility in combat, wielding her Instrument of Life with great speed and precision, keeping up with Jabber. Her reflexes are so sharp that she can dodge bullets with ease thanks to her older sister's arduous training. She is able to react appropriately even to irregular attacks with unpredictable trajectories.
