The name Suguru means "table, desk, high" (卓). Suguru's surname Takamura means "hawk, falcon" (鷹) (taka) and "town, village" (村) (mura).

Suguru is a laid-back individual and a smoker. He has pride for his family and it doesn't like that Takamura puts his family down when he resorts to violence. Although, he doesn't agree with his brother, Takamura, path of life, he still cares for him and respects him in his own way, wanting him to come back home and even giving him to a few businesses.

Bearing a resemblance to his brother, Takamura, Suguru has tanned skin, thick eyebrows, short black messy hair, and dark eyes.

His attire usually consists of a dark business suit and pants.

When he was in rugby, his attire was a green and black striped polo shirt with a white collar and black and white rugby shorts.

Suguru went to the Ryōgoku Kokugikan and watched as Takamura won his first WBC super middleweight title defense match by a third round knockout.

On the day of Takamura's WBC super middleweight title match against Keith Dragon, Suguru drove Wataru and Kyōka to Takamura's place so that they could visit him. When the two came back to their vehicle, Suguru mentioned to them that he did not want to see Takamura, as he would only lecture him about his pointless brawls. Suguru, however, deemed it unforgivable for a Takamura family member to lose, telling Kyōka and Wataru that he has prepared something against the judges, where if his match against Dragon comes to a decision, they will make it Takamura's win. As Takamura was eavesdropping on his family, Takamura yelled at them, warning them not to worry about it. When Takamura's WBC super middleweight title match arrived, Suguru went to the Ryōgoku Kokugikan to watch the match with Wataru and Kyōka. Suguru watched as Takamura wins in the fourth round, becoming the WBC super middleweight champion.

Seeing his brother, Takamura Mamoru making his way to the top of the world in boxing, Suguru visited to congratulate him. He claimed that his father said he could come back to the family if he became the world champion. Suguru then offered to hand him to a few businesses and would even acknowledge his existence to others by revealing that a fourth member of the Takamura family exists if Takamura becomes world champion. Before leaving, he told Takamura to come home after he was done with his punching games.

Suguru later watched Takamura's WBC junior middleweight title match against Bryan Hawk. After seeing his brother win, he concluded that he has found where he belongs.

Renowned as the The Young Nobleman of the Rugby World (ラグビー界の貴公子, Ragubī-kai no Kikōshi), Suguru dominated the sports pages with his natural talent and being the best stand off. He was so talented that the rest of his team couldn't keep up with him and couldn't catch his passes. However, one time during highschool, his team got crushed and the fans started yelling insults, that is when his brother, Takamura Mamoru injured about 20 of the fans, making Suguru's team penalized with a year suspension. He was a famous athlete as Kimura Tatsuya and Aoki Masaru remembered his name. Eventually, he retired to run his father's business, the Takamura Enterprises after college.
