04 CLARISSE LA RUE

Clarisse hated you, and you knew it perfectly well. No one knew why, not even her half-siblings. And that was because Clarisse couldn't stop thinking about you. You were everywhere she went, even on her mind 24/7. She was in love with you, and she hated it, so she made fun of you to try to get those thoughts away.

Of course, that never worked, but at least it kept suspicions of her sudden crush at bay. One day, Clarisse was simply feeling despondent. The weight of simply trying to be the perfect daughter for her father was overwhelming her.

She was sitting on a log in a forest a little ways from the camp, gazing at the stars while she thought. She was so caught up in her thoughts that she didn't even notice that her vision was blurry from the tears covering her eyes. Then she noticed something else weighing her down on the log. She turned and saw you, sitting next to her without even warning. What were you doing there? And why weren't you afraid of her after everything she put you through? She just didn't understand. But it was okay; after all, having you by her side felt good.

"I hate you," she whispered, though those words were only to convince herself. To forget her feelings, even though she knew that wasn't true.
