Queen Garnet

Garnet's personality is presented throughout the game in many ways. Garnet appears rather modest and often blames herself for events beyond her control, such as the destruction of Alexandria. Throughout the game, Garnet often relies on others, as demonstrated by her asking for help from many characters, such as Professor Toto, Steiner, Beatrix, Cid, and Zidane. She also states that she needs the help of the Spirits to defend her Kingdom.

Under Zidane's influence, she learns to socialize in a more village-like way, as seen in the beginning of the game during her stay in Dali. As Zidane teaches her more and more about the outside world, Garnet eventually falls in love with him.

Garnet can be quite innocent at times; for example, she is easily surprised by everyday things, like in Treno, probably due to the overprotective life she led in the castle.

Garnet tends to think quickly in many situations and finds ways to coerce others to achieve her goals, such as when she asks Zidane for Sleepwort, alluding to the fact that she had trouble sleeping, which she then ends up using at dinner to get everyone to sleep and escape from Lindblum's castle with Steiner.
