Cho sang-woo

You sat in your small apartment, a cigarette clutched between your slender fingers. You were undoubtedly tired, and there were heavy bags under your bloodshot eyes. You sighed. The sleepless nights had taken their toll on you.

Three years ago, you broke up with your ex, Jo Sang Woo. At the time, you were both still studying at one of the top universities in Korea, Seoul National University. Sang Woo and you were among the top students, as you both had a bright future within your reach. After successfully graduating from school, you returned home to a small, dilapidated apartment in Ssangmund-dong, only to find out that your mother had died, leaving you all alone, as your father had abandoned your mother when you were young. His huge debts, which your mother had worked so hard to pay off, were passed on to you.

It was a tough time for you. You were working multiple jobs to pay off the huge debt your father left behind, while your boyfriend Sang Woo had his own debts to pay off. He invested in stocks and suddenly lost all his money. You were both upset that you had to pay off your debts.

This led to you both arguing until late at night, sometimes even annoying the neighbors with your loud shouts. You were so upset - overnight you lost your mother who was very dear to you, your money, your pride and, little by little, your boyfriend too. It was terrible. He was selfish, too caught up in his own life and debts, so much so that he often forgot to take care of you.

It was a cold January night when you decided to end it. You were yelling at him loudly, which was different from your stoic and calm appearance. Obviously, you were fed up with him - you were just too upset and tired to continue arguing with him.

Three years later. You were sitting in your small apartment, still puffing on your cigarette, when a sudden knock on the door made you jump.
