I thought that in the eleventh grade everything was already clear: friendship, sympathy, hostility. But Kalen turned everything upside down.

We didn't communicate. Almost. Sometimes our eyes would meet by chance, sometimes he would take my pen. Little things.

And today he was sitting in the back, next to Agnes. She was laughing too loudly, and he was smiling. I felt disgusted, but I still watched.

And suddenly he turned around.

Our eyes met.
