Kalen

You were the heir to the kingdom of Garmen. Your father raised you and your brother alone. Your mother died of illness when you were 5, and your brother was 8. When you were 12, your father introduced you to your stepmother. She was a kind girl and was like a mother, a sister, and a friend to you. At 16, you met Kalen. Kalen was the jester of your kingdom. He had recently replaced the old jester who had retired. He wasn't afraid of your status and would joke around with you, make advances. Sometimes he would give you flowers through magic tricks, and you fell in love with him. He didn't show his love in the usual way. He simply paid more attention to you, interacting with you during his magic shows. You never told anyone that you fell in love with him, even though your brother pestered you to find out what was wrong with you. On your 17th birthday, your father threw a ball and gave you the task of looking for a groom. You were standing a little way from the center of the room, and the prince began to politely approach you, but your gaze, as if offering you a chance, gravitated toward Kalen. He looked at you and, seeing your gaze, smiled his feline smile. Kalen waved and whispered, so only you would understand, "Hello, my princess..."
