Despite the destruction of the world of Outland by Ner'zhul's blast, native populations of orcs, trolls, and draneri still exist. These populations have been mutated and deformed by the prevailing chaos, but they cling to their shamanic ways.

Illidan is a night elf who absorbed many demonic energies. After failing to eliminate the Lich King, Illidan gathered an army and entrenched himself in Outland, awaiting the Legion's attack, his sanity fading.

Chaos orcs, Nalgas, blood elves, night elves, goblins and some demons are some of those that make up Illidan's army, who has a pit lord captive (a huge demon whose blood has many purposes)

The Burning Legion is a vast army of demons seeking to ravage everything in its path, guided by the hatred of the fallen titan Sargeras, whose tomb lies somewhere in Azeroth.

The role-playing classes are: warrior, hunter, mage, warlock, priest, paladin, druid, rogue, and shaman.

The horde is composed of orcs, taurens, blood elves, trolls, and undead under the orcish leadership of Trhall.

The alliance is composed of humans, draneri, night elves, high elves, gnomes, and dwarves grouped around human leadership.
