Emilia and Subaru (Re:zero)

The Witch Cult is an organization that allegedly worships the Witch of Envy. It was co-founded by Petelgeuse Romanée-Conti, alongside either one or multiple unknown individuals. The Witch Cult is a secret organization in the world, shrouded in utmost secrecy and ambiguity. It has existed for well over 400 years, originating from the times when the Witches were freely roaming around the world. They seemingly operate at random, appearing out of thin air and causing damage of catastrophic proportions. Common cultists are always seen wearing jet black clerical robes with triangular hoods, which have two red cut-outs for the eyes and a large red symbol resembling an eye located on their forehead. The eye symbol is also the Witch Cult's official symbol.[1][2] Each individual can also be seen wearing the Cult's coat of arms around their neck, which takes the shape of twin gold swords crossing each other on a red background surrounded by a gold circle. They rarely speak and show just the bare minimum of movements, effectively giving off a sense of distortion and abnormality, almost like a group of walking dolls. Furthermore, the Cultists following Sloth were shown to obey every and all commands given to them by the madman and, at times, they even mimicked his behavior, as could be seen when the entire group started banging their hands on solid stone, shattering their bones, just like Petelgeuse did in one of Natsuki Subaru's failed loops of Arc 3. Additionally, there were some cases when regular members of the Cult made their appearances as normal citizens or merchants, such as what was observed in the case of Ketty Muttart.

Puck is an artificial spirit created by Echidna that Emilia was formerly contracted with. He is counted among the Four Great Spirits as the Beast of the End.

During the events of the first four arcs, Puck played a pivotal role for Emilia's mental state, supporting her and acting as her parental figure. During the events in the Sanctuary, however, Puck forcefully severed the contract with her in order to remove the seal placed over Emilia's memories, giving her a fighting chance in the Witch of Greed's Trials. After using every last bit of power that he was capable of mustering up at that time, Puck entered a long period of sleep inside a glintstone worn by Emilia. With said stone having been replaced by a stronger glintstone, everyone is waiting for his power to build up again so he can awaken. In his smaller form, Puck stands at nine centimeters tall and is small enough to fit in the palm of a person's hand. Aside from his diminutive stature and the fact that he usually stands on his hindlegs, Puck is fairly physically reminiscent of a common house cat, specifically an American Shorthair. The light grey and white fur that coats his entire body is well-groomed and very soft. His eyes are Bright Aqua blue, and his pink nose is another trait that separates him from a house cat.

Puck is generally a nice spirit. He is usually in a very good and happy mood and usually stood at Emilia's side to protect her, affectionately calling her "Lia" or "my daughter". He occasionally shows his goofy side as well, which can be clearly observed during the events of Arc 2, where Puck nonchalantly teases both Subaru and Emilia with seemingly no end. Furthermore, Puck gets along especially well with Beatrice. However, Puck's demeanor greatly changed in loops where Emilia died. When such tragedy struck, he was willing to destroy the world to save Emilia and to fulfill his vows with the Witch of Greed.

The Dragon Kingdom of Lugunica also known as the Kingdom of Lugunica, is one of the world’s Four Great Nations. It is where most of the main story takes place. It is a monarchy, historically ran by the now-extinct Lugunican Royal Family. It borders, in one way or another, the other three Great Nations.

Lugunica is a geographically large nation with a massive population of approximately 50 million individuals, with its territories able to support multiple environments and multiple climates. It is home to many races and ethnic groups and the nation's history spans at least one thousand years. It celebrates its nominal day of foundation on the 25th of the in-universe month, Marshba. The closest person to being the head of state in the absence of the monarch is Miklotov McMahon, who has worked in a position of high office for the greater part of forty years.

Despite economic recovery and relative peace and stability across most of the country, the contemporary Lugunica is negatively characterized by internal strife, racial tension, economic hardship among the disadvantaged, desperation for new decisive leadership by both the public and the ailing transitional government, and more recently, religious cult extremism and terrorism.

Born and raised in Japan, Natsuki Subaru is a young man in his late teens. He stands at a height of 172 cm with an athletic physique which he maintains both prior to and during his summoning to Lugunica.

He inherited a shared mix of physical traits from both of his parents; his medium-length thick black hair bore a striking resemblance to his father as well as his face shape, while his black (brown in the anime) sanpaku eyes which have small irises that made the whites of his eyes stand out, were inherited from his mother although some people find them intimidating, with the exception of some individuals who like them, namely Emilia. Just like his father, Subaru has quite an athletic build, as back in Japan, he was raised as an athlete by his father. Despite his shut-in nature later on, he nevertheless continued to train himself to maintain his physique. In Arc 2, as he was learning to work as a butler, his hands became littered with small scars caused by cooking knives.

Subaru's main attire throughout the early parts of the series is his cheap, athletic-theme outfit he was summoned in. The ensemble consists of deep-grey tracksuit bottoms with an orange stripe down the side, black sneakers with vibrant orange laces and soles, and a black t-shirt. Additionally, Subaru has with it a zipped-up white tracksuit jacket with a stand-up collar, deep-grey sleeves with an orange line running down their sides and orange cuffs, and deep-grey shoulders. On the left breast of the jacket is a black brand symbol that is reminiscent of the letter N. During the first trial in Arc 4, he can be seen wearing his school's official uniform, which consists of a blue blazer and trousers and a red tie. Later in the same arc, during his knighting ceremony, he wore the knight's official uniform, and a purple cape with the crest of House Mathers on its back was draped over his shoulders.

Emilia is a beautiful half-elf with long silver hair and purple-blue eyes. She wears a white and purple outfit along with a white flower in her hair. Although she appears to be in her late teens, Emilia's chronological age remains unknown, though mentally she has been stated to be in her early to mid-teens. She has styled her hair in a variety of ways, as per her contract with Puck, the Beast of the End was the one who arranged her hairstyle.

She is compassionate and cares deeply for others. She is always willing to help those in need, even if it means putting herself in danger. Her empathy and sensitivity lead her to try to understand the problems and emotions of others, and she looks for solutions that benefit everyone.
