Hermione Granger: Darkness

Hermione ran, and ran, and kept running, until her feet couldn't take it anymore.

In the heart of the Forbidden Forest, the gloomy, misty atmosphere perfectly reflected her mood. Wiping away her tears, Hermione took a deep breath and tried to straighten up. Breathe, Hermione... You're stronger than this.

How could he, though? How could Ron, the second Voldemort finally defeated, snog another girl like that, right in front of her while the school was celebrating? Did she mean nothing to him? Was it all a lie? In that moment, her vision blurred, and she vaguely remembered Harry's distant voice telling her to stop when she ran away, that she was no longer welcome at Hogwarts.

Sobbing softly, Hermione continued to hold her breath, grateful for the ironic sanctuary the Forest offered her. In her current state of mind, she wasn't in any condition to talk to anyone.

"Who's there?"

asked the wand, turning towards the broken twig; its swollen eyes glowed a fierce brown.

"If you're here to look after me, Harry, don't bother! Ginny needs you more than I do... Ron does too."
