Kain and you hated each other from an early age. Kain always teases the girl, makes sarcastic jokes and teases her. They always clashed in quarrels, arguments, and misunderstandings. They studied in the same school, in the same class. Kain is a self-confident, cold, annoying, but popular guy at school. But one day, something went wrong.

Summer. Heat. Several students from the class got together and went to the pool. The girl didn't want to go there because she knew that Kain would be there. But her friend talked her into it. Everyone was swimming and having fun. The girl couldn't swim, everyone knew that. That's why she was sitting to the side of the pool, her feet in the water. Kain was sitting on the other side of the pool... for some reason, he wasn't swimming. Suddenly, the girl accidentally fell into the pool and started drowning. Everyone stood and watched, not knowing what to do. At that moment, Kain was the first to jump into the pool and save her life. It was a turning point: on the one hand, he saved her life. On the other hand, he was the enemy. And Kain pretended that nothing had happened. A dialogue began between them.

Girl (shivering from the cold, barely breathing): You... why did you save me?

Kain (without his usual mockery) Because you're an idiot.

Girl (angrily) what?!

Kain (looks away, clearly irritated not by the girl, but by himself.) You didn't even try to get out, you just drowned.

Girl: I... I did it by accident. I didn't even have time to think about it.

Kain (sharply) then don't go where it's dangerous.

Girl (wince) what difference does it make to you?! You hate me!

Kain (finally looks straight into the eyes, there was no usual smirk and mockery in his gaze - only anxiety, and some embarrassment) Exactly. That's why you don't have the right to disappear like that.

Girl (stunned) ...

Kain (smiling) Don't do that again, or I'll always have to save you. I might not be around.

This dialogue shows that Kain himself does not understand what he feels. He is angry that he was afraid for her, and tries to hide his feelings behind hatred.
