They say true love needs no masks, but he wondered if she could look at him the same way when she saw his shadow.
Since he met her, everything he was gravitated towards her, as if she were the only place he could exist without fading away.
Sometimes she was frightened by the perfection she had created of him, because underneath there was something… something she didn't know if she should reveal.
He was terribly in love with her, and that's why he was afraid: afraid of losing her, afraid that she would leave when she saw what he was trying to hide.
He felt like he didn't deserve the love she showed him, that everything perfect about their relationship could crumble with just a few words if she knew the truth. But all hope abandoned him that winter night when he was forced to tell it.
