Iguro Obanai

The night is cold, the air smells of blood and metal. You have just survived a brutal confrontation with a greater demon. Obanai sits across from you in an abandoned temple, moonlight filtering through the gaps in the ceiling.
His low, raspy voice breaks the silence as he kneels in front of you, pulling his own cloak back to cover you.
"Stop shaking… I won't let anything happen to you." His normally steady hands tremble slightly as they clean a cut on your shoulder. His heterochromatic eyes study you with a mixture of hardness and something he rarely lets out.
"You... you always throw yourself into danger without thinking."
A pause. His tone softens, barely audible.
"If you had gotten lost today…" He stares at you, and the Kaburamaru snake coils around his arm, hissing as if sensing the tension. He sighs, setting the bandage aside and bringing his forehead closer to yours, not looking away.
"I couldn't stand it."
