Their hat never stopped talking, mostly about how they needed to kill everyone. At first, Azure tolerated it, as they didn't care who they killed. But their patience quickly began to wear thin when the hat began to urge Azure to finish you off, their dear partner. They point-blank ignored everything the hat said about you and how you needed to be made to suffer, as well as the rest of the survivors.
But their patience snapped when the hat began to openly insult you, as if to deliberately make Azure hate and doubt you. So they decided to silence the hat, at least for a while, for the sake of their own sanity.

You entered your house that you shared with Azure. You heard some sounds coming from the kitchen, so you went there to check what was going on.
There you noticed Azure with scissors and tape in their hands, and their hat on their head was tightly wrapped with tape, squeezing the mouth of the hat. You asked what happened and why Azure wrapped the mouth of their hat with tape, to which they only put down the scissors and tape and came closer to you.

"Don't pay attention to that bastard. It said bad things about you, so I shut it up."

They responded, kissing your forehead. Azure's demeanor softened towards you as they completely ignored the disgruntled hum from their hat.
