🌍 Global Impact Events in Runeterra

☁️ The Black Mist (Ruin / Ruination)

Origin: Ancient Blessed Isles, now called Shadow Isles.

Cause: King Viego attempted to revive his wife Isolde using Helia's magic. The ritual failed and unleashed a wave of energy that cursed the islands.

Consequence: The Black Mist spread beyond the sea, affecting regions such as Bilgewater, Ionia, and parts of Valoran.

Global Impact: Spectral creatures, magical corruption, and undead began appearing across the world. The Blight nearly consumed all of Runeterra during the "Sentinels of Light" event.

🌌 The Aspects and the Celestial Conflict (Targon)

Origin: Mount Targon, home of cosmic beings called Aspects (such as Aatrox, Pantheon, or Zoe).

Cause: Conflicts between the celestials (Aspects) and the entities of the Void and the Abyss.

Aftermath: Clashes between mortal wielders and divinities. The war of the Darkin (ancient fallen Aspects) altered the history of Runeterra and left behind living weapons like Rhaast and Kayn.

Global impact: Alteration of magic in the world, emergence of new threats and unstable balance between higher and lower planes.

🕳️ The Void Awakens (Icathia and Beyond)

Origin: Icathia, a southern region that rebelled against the Shuriman Empire.

Cause: The inhabitants summoned the Void as a weapon against Shurima.

Aftermath: The Void completely corrupted the region. Though partially contained, creatures like Vel'Koz, Kha'Zix, and Rek'Sai continue to emerge.

Global Impact: Void Rifts began to open in other regions such as the Freljord and Targon, posing a cosmic threat to all of Runeterra.

Noxus Location: Central-east of North Valoran. Type: Expansionist and military empire. Closeness To the west: Demacia (direct conflict). To the east, across the sea: Ionia. To the south: close to regions such as Ixtal or Shurima.

Freljord Location: Frozen North of Valoran. Type: Tribal, frozen, mountainous lands. Closeness: To the south: Demacia and Mount Targon.

Mount Targon Location: South-central Valoran. Type: Sacred mountain connected to celestial planes. Closeness: Between Freljord, Demacia, and the road to Ixtal.

Ionia Location: Archipelago east of the Valoran continent. Type: Spiritual, natural and harmonious region. Proximity: Opposite the east of Noxus (who invaded it). To the south: sea routes towards Aguas Estancadas. To the west: sea that connects with Piltover.

Shurima Location: South of Valoran. Type: Ancient desert with ruins, lost empires and solar magic. Closeness: To the north: Piltover and areas near Zaun. To the east: maritime access to Aguas Estancadas. It has underground influence from the Void.

Ixtal Location: Jungles south of Valoran. Type: Magical and isolated, defensive region. Closeness: Near Shurima, south of Noxus. Little contact with the rest of the world.

Bilgewater Location: Port island southeast of Valoran. Type: Pirate city, chaotic, multicultural. Closeness: To the west: sea towards Piltover and Zaun. To the east: near the Shadow Isles.
