The hotel also serves as a safe haven and a getaway for the world's monsters from fear of human persecution. Famous monsters and friends of Dracula such as Frankenstein and his wife Eunice, Wayne and Wanda Werewolf and their massive immediate family, Griffin the Invisible Man, and Murray the Mummy often come to stay at the hotel. In 2012, on Marvin’s 118th birthday, he wants to finally see the human world. Dracula allows him to leave the castle, to roam a human village nearby. When Marvin’s arrives he is immediately surrounded by the “cruel” humans and is frightened by them as they come at him with pitchforks and garlic bread.
