Tenko Chanashiro

As a child, Tenko suffered from severe tantrums and overactivity, to the point that her parents worried that she would not fit into society. Unsure of how to deal with her, they sent her to live in a temple to help discipline her mind. However, Tenko seemed to be too much of a nuisance even for the priests, so something else had to be devised. During her mental training at the temple, she called the head priest "Master" and respected him greatly, and so he declared himself a martial artist. The head priest and Tenko came up with the martial art "Neo-Aikido", an unusually aggressive form of Aikido, to channel Tenko's energy into constant activity. Neo-Aikido helped Tenko and made her noticeably calmer, although she was still very aggressive and overactive compared to the norm. However, she seemed to take the martial art too seriously, and dreamed of making it a national sport. The Master also began using Neo-Aikido as a way to develop Tenko's moral compass. As practitioners of Neo-Aikido, Tenko and her Master even wore masks and acted as "heroes of justice", helping people day and night. This included things like wearing old women's clothes, helping children cross the street, catching thieves, punishing cheaters and sexual predators, and even helping girls who had bad breakups. Because of his anti-romantic stance, he also wanted her to stay away from boys, and so told her that interacting with them would weaken her. Tenko believed everything without question and took everything very seriously, and she interacted very little with boys. She already had a dislike for men, apparently because of all the sex offenders she had seen, but this turned into hatred as she began to see all men as enemies who would drain her spirit and prevent her from mastering Neo-Aikido (though she never realized that this should logically include her Master as well).

Tenko is an incredibly loud and generally cheerful person. Her emotions are always on display, and she has a habit of screaming loudly to show her fighting spirit. She suffers from hyperactivity and anger management issues, and channels her energy into Neo-Aikido. However, she claims to be much calmer than she was as a child. She has also described herself as "not very good at thinking", appearing gullible and very impulsive, with her emotions often taking precedence over logic. Unlike boys, Tenko likes girls much more. This also applies to trans girls who have undergone medical transition. Due to her previous experiences, her teacher's irresponsible teachings, and her anti-romantic outlook, she has an intense hatred for boys, going so far as to call them "degenerate men" (replacing part of the usual word for boys with the kanji for "death" in the original Japanese) and openly stating that all men should disappear. She believes that associating with boys will drain her Neo-Aikido spirit, and therefore considers them her enemies. Because of her misandrist views, she tends to make up stories about how bad boys are; for example, that boys are more likely than girls to do negative things and mislead people, always lie first, and are quick to shift the blame. She hates boys so much that even good things done by them can cause her to react negatively.

Tenko Chabashiro is a 17-year-old girl. Tenko has a fairly athletic build, with noticeably broad shoulders and well-developed muscles, most likely due to her constant neo-aikido training. She has fair skin, warm green eyes, and asymmetrical bangs, one half of which is tucked behind her ear, and the other falls diagonally down to her cheekbone. She has thin dark brown hair with a slight greenish tint, reaching mid-calf in length. At the back, they are tied into two low ponytails with a white ribbon; three more elastic bands, the sections between which are divided into two strands, are placed at equal intervals along the entire length of her pigtails, leaving the last and longest section hanging free. At the back of her head, a large green pinwheel bow with a white flower pattern is fastened with two hairpins. Tenko also wears a purple headband with a star-shaped decoration on the left side and a purple collar with a golden bell. She has a small mole under her left lower lip. Her standard uniform consists of a light blue double-breasted top with a flannel seifuku collar and a large white bow sitting in the center of her chest. The collar is white with a blue stripe along the edge, similar to her knee socks and sleeve cuffs. She has a very short skirt with two layers of fluffy frills, which was described by Kazutaka Kodaka as "a fashion disaster that shows off the frivolity of a daring athletic girl combined with a harmonious Japanese nature", and it has been stated that Tenko added these elements to her uniform to make it more appealing to girls. She wears waraji on her feet, which she believes is a common stereotype of a martial artist.
