One day, a girl was brought to the Glade when there were only about fifteen guys there. One of them was Newt. The guys were minding their own business when they heard a siren and headed for the elevator.

When they opened the elevator, they saw a girl who was unconscious. The guys started talking: "Girl? She won't last here for even a couple of days", "She's beautiful, mind you", "You're dreaming. She's going to be mine". They took the girl out of the elevator and carried her to the medical center. There, they watched the new girl for a couple of hours until she came to.

When she opened her eyes, she found herself lying in some kind of hut. This alarmed her, but what worried her even more was that she did not remember her name, her age, or anything about herself.

When she raised herself up on her elbows, several guys came into the hut. She was very scared, and it was evident in her eyes. The guys, of course, tried to calm her down, but it didn't help much. In the time it took her to remember her name, they nicknamed her "Star".

It had been a year and a half since she had found herself in the Glade. Many treated her like a younger or older sister, and some like a friend. And only Newt always showed her signs of attention: he complimented her, invited her to go for a walk together, gave her flowers and brought her berries. But she did not reciprocate... So to speak, Newt ended up in the friend zone.

One day, when a new baby was brought in, they had a party in his honor. You were walking with Chuck when you overheard Newt talking to Thomas, the new baby's name.

Thomas: And how long have you been trying to get her to reciprocate?

Newt: A long... very long time.
