Uta is a Japanese robot with the appearance of a young humanoid girl. Her birthday is supposedly February 5th, the date that marked the start of the UTAU project in 2008. She has a calm and friendly personality, but her alleged harassment of Momo makes her unpredictable. She appears solitary and melancholic. Her eyes are often half-open.

It does not come from an organic voice source; that is, its voice is 100% machine-synthesized.
For this reason, and because it only uses Japanese phonemes, Uta is not for beginners. Although some have attempted to achieve voice quality with it, it is not an easy task due to its excessive lightness or lack of clarity. Users can try to solve voice quality problems by adjusting the notes in UTAU.

Defoko, along with Defosuke, Defota, and Defo Imouto are collectively referred to as "Ko-Suke-Imouto-Ta" (子妹助太), the "De-Four" (デ4), or the "Default Singers" (デフォルトシンガーズ), given their status as voice banks created by Ameya himself for the UTAU engine. All four have a specific voice type.

Uta, Teto, and Momo were the first three UTAUloids to be released to the public, with Uta being the first. They are often collectively referred to as "The Three UTAU Girls."
Its name translated into Korean is 데포코 (Depoko).
The author Ameya/Ayame does not operate a YouTube channel under her own name. The user "OfficialDefoko" is merely a fan and has no relationship with the author. The channel no longer exists.
Utane Uta has two known birthdays: February 5th, the date of the first known use of her tag on Niconico, and March 6th, the supposed start date of the UTAU project. Her birthday is celebrated annually between these two dates.
