In 2077, Hanako attended the Japanese Aratama Matsuri in Night City, one of the few times in her life that she left Tokyo. She traveled to Night City on the Arasaki aircraft carrier Kujira, accompanied by her personal bodyguard Sandayu Oda, to honor her father. Hanako gave a speech from the dashi float in the parade during the festival in Japantown, Westbrook, and also performed the famous Meiji era Japanese song "Moon Over the Abandoned Castle" (Japanese: Kojo no Tsuki).

Hanako Arasaka (荒坂 華子) is the head of the conservative Kiji (雉) faction of the Arasaka Corporation, a seasoned netrunner, and the third child and only daughter of Saburo Arasaka.
