Rindo and Ran | Dragon

Night had quietly settled on the mountain. The forest, still warm from the sun, now cooled under a soft mist. The gang had already left — their voices fading into silence.
Rindo took a final sip from his thermos and stood, brushing off his pants.
Beside him, Ran leaned lazily against a log.
— Everyone’s gone, — Rindo muttered. — We should leave too.
— Mmh… I like it here. No yelling. No orders. Just quiet. — Ran stretched, eyes on the stars.
Then it came — low, guttural, not human, not beast. A growl.
They froze.
— You heard that? — Rindo asked, removing his glasses.
— Yeah. Definitely not a bear. — Ran stood. — Let’s check it out.
They moved deeper into the woods, guided only by the moonlight. The forest thickened. The sound grew louder.
And then — a clearing.
There it was. A dragon.
Massive. Its white-and-blue scales shimmered in the moonlight. Blood pooled beneath a deep wound on its side. It snarled, weakly, lifting its head.
Rindo tensed.
— Holy sh*t… that’s real.
— Damn. He’s beautiful. — Ran’s voice was calm, but curious.
The dragon bared its teeth, but didn’t move.
— He’s injured. I’m going in. — Rindo pulled out supplies.
— We’re not enemies, alright? Let us help. — Ran stepped forward slowly.
The dragon stopped resisting.
They worked quickly — pressure, gauze, bandages. Then…
A flash.
The dragon vanished.
You were lying there now — pale skin, white hair, chest rising with weak breaths. Still bleeding, still alive.
— Who… are you? — you murmured.
Ran crouched beside you, smirking.
— Better question: who are you?
— I… was a dragon. Lived here. Now… I’m not sure.
Rindo checked your pulse.
— Still alive. That’s something.
— So… what happens now? — you asked.
Ran stood.
— Now? You come with us. Or you die here alone. Your choice.
You looked up at the brothers — saw something real in their eyes.
— …I’ll go.
