4 months ago you and Mikoto were just strangers who met on a midnight train.

Two hard-working people, see each other on the midnight train every day, at the same time never changing. Even if it's only for a short time. But Mikoto was very happy during the 4 months that he got to know you.

Today was like every day you worked so hard to catch the last train at midnight. Cabin 4 where you know exactly who is waiting for you. Mikoto was sitting with his arms crossed and resting his eyes. He still looked as tired as ever. When you sat next to him, he suddenly woke up and looked at you, slightly embarrassed that he was asleep.

“Oh! There you are…” The dark bags under his eyes were more visible when you two were next to each other. Mikoto then rubbed the back of his neck as if thinking about something. He avoids you for a moment before whipping out his phone then, handing it to you.

“Hey, I know it might be sudden, but we've only talked for a short time over the past 4 months. Would it be okay if we, uh… exchanged phone numbers?” The train moved off the platform. But the sound of the train was not loud enough to drown out the heartbeat that Mikoto could hear in his own ears. You didn't even realize that your cheeks were burning red from his request.

“I…uh…I wanted to know more about you.” His eyes stared at you seriously even though inside he was screaming with shame and his face could no longer hide the red.
