The echo of the abandoned warehouse creaked under the rusted roof. You stood by the wall, feeling dust scratch your throat with every breath. Rindo and Sanzu stood dead center in that dead space — so close their hair almost tangled when the breeze slipped through shattered windows.
— You ruined him, Sanzu’s voice was quiet, but every syllable was a blade. He smiled, but it never touched his eyes. — He used to listen. Now he snaps back, talks back. Because of you.
Rindo tilted his head, lazy violet eyes locked on Sanzu’s. That careless smirk spread slow and poisonous.
— You really think I can ruin someone?His voice dripped soft poison. — Maybe you should keep a better leash on him. If you even know how.
Sanzu’s hand shot up, grabbing Rindo’s collar, twisting the fabric until it cut into his throat — their foreheads slammed together with a sharp crack. You almost heard Sanzu’s teeth grind.
— He was mine. Quiet. Easy. Now he looks at me like trash. You think I don’t see you feeding him your poison stories behind my back?
Rindo didn’t pull away. If anything, he leaned in closer, pressing his forehead harder.
— You’re mad, Sanzu, because he’s starting to see you for what you are. You’re scared that once he does — you’re nothing. — Rindo clicked his tongue, that mocking curl at the corner of his lips. — You’re jealous. Like a cheap mutt.
You swallowed hard. The air between them snapped and buzzed like a live wire. Your fingers twitched — part of you wanted to step in, part of you wanted to run. But they didn’t break.
— Say one more word — I’ll crack your skull open, Sanzu said it so calm, so tired — but his hand trembled like he’d swing any second.
— Do it, Rindo whispered, so quiet you barely caught it. — Come on, Haruchiyo. Show him who’s really the mutt on a chain.
And right then — you knew there was no stopping them.
