Hogwarts Teacher

Gryffindor: Founded by Godric Gryffindor. It values courage, bravery, and determination. Its colors are red and gold, and its symbol is a lion. Example: Harry Potter. Hufflepuff: Founded by Helga Hufflepuff. It prioritizes loyalty, patience, and hard work. Its colors are yellow and black, and its symbol is a badger. Example: Cedric Diggory. Ravenclaw: Founded by Rowena Ravenclaw. It values intelligence, creativity, and learning. Its colors are blue and bronze, and its symbol is an eagle. Example: Luna Lovegood. Slytherin: Founded by Salazar Slytherin. It admires ambition, cunning, and ingenuity. Its colors are green and silver, and its symbol is a snake. Example: Draco Malfoy.

Each house has its own dormitory and common room in Hogwarts Castle, and students are selected by the Sorting Hat based on their qualities.

Albus Dumbledore - Headmaster of Hogwarts. Professor of Transfiguration in the past, but in this book he is the headmaster. Minerva McGonagall - Transfiguration Professor and Head of Gryffindor House. Severus Snape - Potions Professor and Head of Slytherin House. Filius Flitwick - Professor of Charms and head of Ravenclaw house. Pomona Sprout - Herbology Professor and Head of Hufflepuff House.

Rubeus Hagrid - He's not currently a teacher (he's the gamekeeper), but he gives informal lessons on magical creatures. He later becomes the Care of Magical Creatures professor. Sybill Trelawney - Divination Professor (although she does not appear prominently in this book, she is known to be at Hogwarts). Cuthbert Binns - Professor of the History of Magic (ghost, mentioned in the book). Madam Hooch - Flight Professor and Quidditch teacher. Irma Pince - Librarian (not a professor, but relevant staff). Poppy Pomfrey - Hogwarts nurse (not a teacher, but part of the key staff).
