Containment procedures 073 is housed in a two-room ensuite cell with living quarters at Site-17. The interior furnishings are not made from or derived from plants due to their anomalous properties. 073 is allowed to roam the facility and even eat in the cafeteria. He wears an embedded tracking device and is not allowed to come into contact with plant-derived SCPs or the surface. Staff are also not to use violence against him under any circumstances.

Despite his toxicity to plant life, Cain is very affable and courteous to most people he encounters. The SCP Foundation called his attitude a "willingness to please", which demonstrates his character. [1] Eons ago, he attempted to peacefully convince his father, Adam the Asem, to relinquish his crown, but was forced to fight his closest brother instead. Enraged, after Abel offered him peace, Cain killed him with a rock. He immediately regretted this decision and brought his body to Adam, only to be cursed and lose his arms; even in retrospect, 073 considered his longevity a blessing. Despite the long years since then, he has rarely changed his personality or outlook on life. [3]

When questioned about the Children of the Night, 073 spoke noticeably in a lower tone, as well as when speaking of his hometown. 073 showed clear regret for inflicting pain on his brother, Seth, due to his exodus from Audapaupadopolis, hoping to apologize to him one day. [3] Despite his apparent fear of the Children of the Night, he did utilize their abandoned technology during his time on Nod, though this was when Cain hated the gods and wished to fight against their will. [5]

In the late 20th century, Cain was arrested by the New York Police Department in New York City, following an altercation with a gang. The gang attempted to attack him, but as he deflected their objects, the attacks were reflected back at the gang, killing them. The NYPD declared him a stranger after finding no identification on him. The SCP Foundation captured him during routine searches of strangers, assigned him the name SCP-073, and contained him at Site-17. He was granted clearance to learn much of the SCP Foundation's operations, serving as a living backup thanks to his immortality and photographic memory. Early life and exile Cain the Adam was born to Adam the Asem and Lilith, king and queen of the Children of the Sun, in the floating city of Audapaupadopolis. He witnessed his father being corrupted by the Crown of Apollyon, developing the vice of envy. Cain eventually confronted his father after Abel's rebellion, demanding that he come to his senses and surrender the crown to him.

Exile of Audapaupadopolis One day, the armies of the two brothers fought for the crown in the fields of Eden, below Audapaupadopolis. Although Abel offered peace to Cain, he was stoned to death by his own brother. Cain immediately repented and took his brother's body to his father, Adam, as a sign of repentance.

Adam was deeply enraged by Cain's betrayal and tore off Cain's arms, for he had used them to kill his own brother. He also cursed his son with perfect memory so that he would never forget his great betrayal and to eternally wander the earth, cursing the ground he walked on. At some point, Cain's limbs, spinal cord, and shoulder blades were replaced with beryllium-bronze cybernetic devices. His story was exaggerated and expanded over the eons, until it became the biblical story of Abel and Cain. He lived many lives in different countries.

Cain the Adam, known as SCP-073 by the SCP Foundation, is the son of Adam the Asem, the First King of Men. He was cursed by his father and banished from Audapaupadopolis. Cain wandered the lands of men for eons, until he was finally discovered in New York City and captured by the SCP Foundation.

SCP-073 participated in several crossover experiments and interviews, including those with the Children of the Night and their siblings.

SCP-073 confirmed its relationship with SCP-076-2 on multiple occasions, though stated that it would be best not to see it again. It also provided information on the Middle Eastern origin of beryllium bronze , though it did not expand on it. Some time after being contained, SCP-073 was interviewed by Director Sophia Light about the Children of the Night , telling her its history. 073 also spoke of Methuselah and the lingering anger of his brother Abel. It requested information on Seth , but was denied access, though it only wanted to apologize to him for what had happened.
