Meliodas

On the day of the Kingdom's Founding Celebration, the Seven Deadly Sins were summoned to an old castle, where they discovered the battered corpse of the Great Holy Knight, Zaratras. Meliodas and his companions were immediately ambushed by a large contingent of the kingdom's knights after being blamed for the Great Holy Knight's death. Meliodas ordered the others to split up, telling them that he would meet up later. During the escape, a girl who was helping them escape was injured, causing Meliodas to begin to lose his cool. However, he was stopped by Merlin who took advantage of the moment to drain much of his power, telling him he was sorry and hitting him with a blow that left him unconscious. When he came to, he was lying in a hole, where he met Hawk.

Before the Seven Deadly Sins were formed, Meliodas saved Diane from an attack by some Knights who teased her for his size. After defeating them, Diane became attracted to him. Shortly after, Diane was sentenced to death under false accusations of murdering Matrona and several Holy Knights, but Meliodas intervened at the last minute to claim her life and from that moment on, she joined their group.

Some time later, Meliodas visited Ban, who was imprisoned and constantly being executed, but without any satisfactory results for his executioners, due to his immortality. Once he found him, he asked him to join him, but Ban rejected his offer, for this reason Meliodas was forced to persuade him by force, an act that resulted in a violent fight between the two. Once Meliodas sent Ban flying out of his cell with a punch, the latter became very excited and asked him to continue the battle. Meliodas replied that if he wished to continue fighting him, he would have to join him, and from that moment on, the two began their journey together.

Meliodas was present when King was transferred to his imprisonment and also accompanied Merlin in the search for Escanor.

Zaratras took Meliodas to the Kingdom of Liones, where the baby, Elizabeth, was adopted by King Baltra. Following this, Meliodas requested to be made a Holy Knight of Liones. Zaratras took this as a joke, so Meliodas challenged him to a sword fight, in which Meliodas soundly defeated him. Zaratras agreed to give him the recommendation and seal of approval that allowed him to be promoted to Holy Knight.

Shortly after, King Baltra had a vision about the arrival of the Seven Deadly Sins, who would become the protectors of the kingdom and stop the Ten Commandments if they were released. Merlin claimed that she and Meliodas were the first two, and thanks to the king's visions, she was able to identify the other five.

Many centuries later, Meliodas would head to the Kingdom of Danafor where he would become the leader of its Holy Knights. Later, a slave woman from an enemy kingdom named Liz was sent to carry out a night ambush, however, she failed and was sentenced to death in said kingdom. Despite this, she was saved by Meliodas who stated that all who opposed him would be his enemies. Meliodas then took Liz to his home, and they began to live together as brothers. At one point, Liz offered Meliodas a sword, which he refused because he did not want to kill anyone.

Some time later, the Demon Fraudrin began to destroy Danafor by destroying everything and killing Liz right in front of Meliodas, which unleashed his rage with which he was able to defeat him and leave him on the brink of death. Following this, Meliodas stands in front of her, and Liz makes him promise that while he may forget who he is, he will never forget the principles that sustain him. After these words, she dies in Meliodas' arms, who cries under the incessant rain that falls on both of them. Liz's death caused Meliodas to lose himself in his anger and exploit his immense power, which in turn destroyed and completely eliminated the Kingdom of Danafor. While leaving the destroyed kingdom, Meliodas found and took a baby with him, he also ran into King Baltra Liones and Zaratras who, upon seeing Meliodas, offered to take care of the baby while his wounds were treated. Melidoas accepted, knowing that the baby he was carrying was the reincarnation of his friend Elizabeth.

Three thousand years ago, he was the leader of the Ten Commandments, who were at war with the Goddess Clan. Furthermore, Meliodas was considered the most likely successor to take the throne of the Demon King due to his cruelty and strength. However, due to the union with a Goddess named Elizabeth, he ended up betraying his clan and killing two of the Ten Commandments, Aranak and Zeno during his escape. This unbalanced the balance of power between the Demons and the Goddesses who convinced the other races to join them, thus unleashing the great Holy War. During this war, Meliodas formed with Elizabeth the group known as Stigma and fought alongside Drole and Gloxinia against the Demon Clan until both ended up uniting. At some point, Meliodas would fight against his younger brother Zeldris of the Ten Commandments.

In the final days of the Holy War, Meliodas and Elizabeth found themselves fighting against the Demon King and the Supreme Deity who sought to punish them for betraying their respective clans. In the end, Meliodas was killed alongside Elizabeth, however, the Demon King placed a curse on him as punishment to make him immortal, condemning him to never age and to resurrect every time he died. Meliodas wandered aimlessly, grieving over Elizabeth's death, until he came across a woman from a barbarian clan who looked exactly like her. This woman turned out to be the reincarnation of Elizabeth, and over time, that woman regained the powers and memories of her previous life. However, three days after this, she was killed in front of Meliodas. In this way, Meliodas discovered that the true curse placed on them by the Demon King and the Supreme Deity was that he would live eternally reuniting with Elizabeth's reincarnations, who would die three days after regaining their memories.

Despite being around 3,000 years old, Meliodas has the appearance of a preteen of approximately 12 or 13 years old. Because of this, he lacks adult features such as facial hair, and his stature is quite short compared to other characters. His eyes are bright emerald green, which change to a completely dark shade of black when he unleashes his power as a demon, revealing the Demon Clan symbol on his face. His hair is short, messy, and blond, with a long Ahoge-style lock protruding from the top of his head.

Despite his height and youthful appearance, he is relatively muscular, possessing a variety of well-developed abdominal muscles. He is often shown wearing an ordinary white shirt, a sleeveless black vest over a loose tie, and a pair of black boots with no socks and green accents.

The sheath of his Broken Sword is shaped like a green dragon's head with two red jewels located in its eyes, and is held on his shoulder by a green leather belt with golden buckles. His most distinctive feature is the dragon symbol located on his left arm, just below his shoulders.

During his tenure as leader of the Holy Knights of Danafor, Meliodas wore his traditional armor, very similar to that of Cain Barzad. Ten years ago, he wore full-body silver armor with a unique helmet, like the rest of the Sins. He also wielded a dagger that appeared to be his Sacred Treasure. Meliodas was seen on a wanted poster, like all the Sins, after being framed for the murder of the Great Holy Knight Zaratras. The most recent issue of his poster doesn't accurately describe him, but coincidentally, it depicts his brother, Estarossa.

Meliodas is characterized by his frankness and courage, which contrast with his strong sense of justice, which is why he is always willing to help those in danger. Despite his title as the Sin of Wrath, he is generally a very calm person. However, if his companions or friends are harmed in any way, he displays extreme anger, capable of intimidating even a Holy Knight and destroying everything in his path.

When he was the leader of the Ten Commandments, Meliodas was especially known for his savagery and brutality in combat. So ruthless was he that even the Demon King considered him as his successor.
