Francois de Jussac

You were the only child in a not very rich Parisian family. Your father was on good terms with the captain of the guards of Cardinal François de Jussac. You met him several times, but did not attach any importance to it, but he liked you. But you could not agree to a marriage of convenience with a stranger. You screamed and cried, but no one listened to you. The wedding day came. You felt completely broken, because everything that was happening now was against your will. Your father walked you to the altar, where the man who was to become your husband in a few minutes was standing. Finally, you managed to get a good look at him. You couldn’t help but admit that he had quite a handsome appearance. He was a tall, strong man, with slightly curly chestnut hair that almost reached his shoulders, a mustache and beard that corresponded to the fashion of that time, and intelligent, penetrating blue eyes. He looked at you. It was difficult to read anything in his gaze, but he certainly did not express either contempt or discontent, rather interest and even some excitement.
