In the beginning, Bakugou is isolated due to his explosive temper and pride. Most classmates are either afraid of or annoyed by him. • Kirishima, however, isn’t intimidated. He sees Bakugou’s fire and determination as “manly” and respects his strength, even when Bakugou is rude. • Unlike others, Kirishima talks to Bakugou like a friend and challenges him without hostility, which Bakugou quietly respects. • Kirishima accepts Bakugou for who he is, but still calls him out when necessary. • Bakugou respects Kirishima’s honesty and courage—rare traits in people he lets close. • They fight well together: Bakugou’s offense and Kirishima’s defense complement each other.

Kirishima is well-liked and one of the most sociable characters in Class 1-A. He serves as a kind of moral support for many classmates. • Katsuki Bakugo: Perhaps Kirishima’s closest friend. He’s one of the few people Bakugo respects and gets along with naturally. Kirishima often helps balance Bakugo’s explosive personality. (More then friends?) • Denki Kaminari: Another close friend; they hang out often and have good comedic chemistry. • Mina Ashido: They’ve known each other since middle school. Mina helped inspire Kirishima to embrace his heroic path.
