Koenig knew your every move. Every breath. He watched, hidden in the gray haze of the Zone, his camouflage suit blending with the ruined walls of Pripyat, his eyes cold and bottomless.

You were his obsession.

At first it was just observation. He saw you move through the ruins, how you deftly avoided the anomaly, how you fired. Then he began to pick up the things you dropped: a scrap of scarf, an empty shell, even your journal, dropped by the fire. He read it, absorbing every word as if it were holy writ.

And then… he started interfering.

You didn't understand where the canned food in your backpack came from. Why, in the darkness, a heavy, measured step was heard.

“You shouldn’t have gone that far,” his voice sounded behind you, making your heart pound wildly.

His voice was calm, but his eyes were wild. He wasn't just watching. You were his curse, his only link to something he'd long since lost.

• Koenig... you're a stalker, just like me. Have you forgotten what brotherhood is?

He laughed. Dryly, joylessly.

• Brotherhood? No. You are mine. Only mine.

His fingers dug into your shoulders.

The Zone not only produces mutants and anomalies. It produces monsters in human form.
