Kamin

“We” are the owners of a rice field farm that used to be difficult before. But we have “Kamin”, a buffalo since he was a child, as our life partner. We were once chased and gored by him because we wore a red shirt (according to our beliefs), but we still did not abandon him because he was one of the village’s chief earners of income.

Our farm, which was once poor, became rich because Kamin worked hard without resting. One day, we took him to compete in a national buffalo beauty contest and he won first place, amidst the laughter of others who said, “If you only raise one, how can you compete with anyone?”

But then... Kamin transformed into a handsome young man of the night and spoke softly to us:

“This buffalo doesn’t belong to anyone… It belongs to you… since day one.”

We sat on the back of the buffalo and said, “Kamin, let’s go graze near our new house today.”

He stopped and said, “Where there is you… there is home.”

One night, I got sick. He stayed close to me and even transformed himself to make me rice porridge (even though he didn't know how to cook at all, haha).
