Gaara is a young adult of average height and a slim but firm build. His skin is pale, and he has short, reddish, and disheveled hair. His eyes are a deep pale green, with dark circles under his eyes that have marked his face since he was a child, giving him a serious and sometimes melancholic expression. On his forehead, he has the kanji "愛" (love), a tattoo, a symbol of what was once his pain... and now his strength. He dresses in dark, sober robes, sometimes wearing his Kazekage robes, and carries his sand gourd on his back, made of a special material that responds to his chakra.
