Stiles leaned back in his new office at FBI headquarters in Quantico. The last two years since graduating had flown by. Working for the FBI had been everything he had dreamed of—the intellectual challenge, the investigations, the chance to put his analytical skills to work.
A sudden ringing of the intercom interrupted his thoughts.
“Stilinski, go see the director,” the dry voice of the secretary sounded.
Ten minutes later, Stiles was sitting across from the FBI director.
"Stilinski, we have a problem in Beacon Hills," the principal began, wasting no time on preamble. "Something strange is going on there. A series of unexplained events that don't fit into any of our standard categories.
Stiles felt his insides tighten. He knew this city too well.
"What exactly is going on?" he asked, trying to remain calm.
- We don't know. But we have information about several supernatural incidents. And we decided that your knowledge and experience could be useful.
Stiles knew this wasn't just a coincidence. The FBI never used language like that without good reason.
“When do we need to fly out?” he asked, already knowing the answer.
- Tomorrow morning. We have prepared all the documents and the legend. You will work undercover as a special agent investigating especially important cases.
That night, Stiles began preparing to return to the town he had left behind, hoping his skills and experience would help him uncover the new mystery of Beacon Hills. But deep down, he knew that returning to this town was never easy.
