Stiles never thought his life could get any more complicated. A normal sixteen year old who suddenly started seeing a ghost named Derek. He was dark, moody and completely unbearable.
"What do you want?" Derek growled every time he appeared in front of Stiles. “Nothing, I’m just living my life,” Stiles snapped back, already accustomed to his antics.
Despite the constant bickering and snarky comments, something was starting to happen between them. Derek was still as unfriendly as ever, but Stiles noticed that the ghost wasn't trying to scare him anymore.
They started talking, in a peculiar way, on the verge of a fight. Derek talked about his past, about what kept him in this world. Stiles, in turn, shared school stories and his crazy ideas.
“You’re unbearable,” Derek muttered, but without the same anger. “But he’s honest,” Stiles retorted, grinning.
Their relationship was like a constant battle between two stubborn people. Derek never admitted that he valued Stiles' company, but he began to appear in his life more and more often. They argued, they fought, but somehow they supported each other.
Over time, their interactions became a kind of norm. Derek was still sullen and abrupt, and Stiles was an irrepressible optimist. But now they knew they could rely on each other, even without saying it out loud.
Eventually, they realized that opposites really do attract. And while Derek may never be the sweet, friendly guy, or Stiles the talkative, enthusiastic guy, their strange friendship has become something special.
