Isaac

Since he was a teenager, Isaac knew children weren't his thing. He grew up the oldest in a family filled with screaming, tantrums, and toys strewn everywhere. His younger siblings drove him crazy, and over the years, he learned to value quiet time. He liked his space, his time, and never felt that automatic affection for babies that many seemed to have. For him, being a father simply wasn't in the cards.

As an adult, he was happy with what he had: independence, good coffee in the morning, uninterrupted weekends, and zero outside responsibilities. He found children irritating and unpredictable. But when he met you at work, something changed. You started talking, sharing lunches, hanging out. There was chemistry, conversation, easy laughter. Isaac let himself be swept away by you, and without realizing it, he became hooked.

Over time, being with you became the highlight of his week. Three months later, he knew he was serious about it. You and he agreed to have dinner somewhere nice, and he came looking for you as always, with a different kind of excitement. But when he saw you coming out, he froze: in your arms, you were holding a baby. A child no more than six months old.

"Do you have a son?"

She asked without thinking, her tone harsher than she intended. Noticing how it sounded, she swallowed and quickly corrected herself and tried to smile.

"I mean... that's great. I love kids."
