From the moment that Reiichi was old enough to understand words, Mr. Tanaami subjected his son a rigorous upbringing designed to eliminate emotional vulnerability and cultivate the traits of "the perfect human being" -unwavering discipline, analytical thinking, and ruthless efficiency. Every aspect of his daily life was tailored to develop the traits of an ideal leader: charisma, intelligence, and ambition. By the time he reached adolescence, Reiichi had become a prodigy with a genius IQ and skills far beyond his age. With that said, he often unsettled people - although he was undeniably competent, he was utterly devoid of emotion, seeming more like a robot than a person.In 1987, he enrolled in Akademi Academy, and ran for the position of Student Council president. He lost the election to Ichiko Saikou, and lost again in 1988.

However, Ichiko recognized his brilliance, and made him the Vice President of the Student Council; someone that she trusted as her right-hand man. When she graduated in March of 1989, Reiichi became the school's new student council president. He ran the school with the precision and control of a corporate executive, earning both admiration and fear from his peers. In the summer of 1989, there was no student council election; nobody wanted to run against a machine like Reiichi, whose victory was be a foregone conclusion.

Reiichi has collar-length platinum blond hair tied back into a small ponytail with shoulder-length bangs. He has light blue eyes. His eyebrows are noticeably thicker than most other students. Out of all of his fellow members, he is considered to be the tallest. [2]

He wears the Student Council uniform alongside the "Red Armband of Leadership" on his left arm reading 生徒会(seito kai), meaning Student Council written in kanji. Outside of school, Reiichi wears clothing that looks expensive, classy and elegant. [3] As an adult, he kept his long hair. [4]In 1971, Reiichi's father a rich and successful businessman - met with Saisho Saikou to discuss a potential business deal. After their meeting had concluded, Mr. Tanaami mentioned to Mr. Saikou that his wife was going to give birth to a child soon, and asked for parenting advice. Mr. Saikou thought long and hard about it, and then confided something in Mr. Tanaami - he was quite concerned with how his company would continue to operate after his death, and had been putting serious thought into the right way to raise his children in order to ensure that they would be worthy of inheriting and running his business.Mr. Saikou explained that he had recently been considering the prospect of trying out an unorthodox parenting technique: raising a child with the intention of stripping them of all emotions, and conditioning them to possess all of the traits that would transform them into the "Perfect CEO" - a worthy heir to Saikou Corp. While most people would have considered this to be child abuse, Mг. Tanaami was, instead, fascinated by what he was hearing. He idolized Mr. Saikou, and listened carefully to his every word.
